The LocalTag
property can be included to specify a “Local Tag” to be used when coding an Element in a “Local Set” (refer to SMPTE ST 336). If no LocalTag
value is given then behaviour will be application specific – in MXF a “Dynamic Tag” will probably be allocated.
A value of zero is a permitted LocalTag
value. However, a value of zero is unlikely to be a good choice because historically (for example in MXF) the value of zero has been prohibited. Additionally, a value of zero has been used previously as a special value.
LocalTag
uses the xs:hexBinary
XML type – refer to Use of hexBinary for more details.
